Screw piles for foundation.
A single-turn screw pile.
Composite materials consist of components combined into one interconnected structure. At the same time, the characteristics of the composite may be higher than the similar characteristics of its individual components. Highways, bridges, overpasses, tunnels are in dire need of increasing strength and durability. These are complex structures, on the condition of which the safety of people and the economy as a whole depends. The introduction of promising composite materials made of fiberglass into their design is one of the obvious directions for the development of the industry and improving the efficiency of operation of these structures.
Fiberglass consists of glass fibers and frozen artificial resin. Fiberglass products can have greater strength than concrete, and their resistance to aggressive environmental factors is significantly superior to reinforced concrete and metal. We tested screw piles made of a fiberglass shell of annular cross section for the effects of vertical compression. The maximum load achieved on a screw composite pile was 11 tons, while the structure retained its integrity.
Scientists tested fiberglass structures for bending, for central compression, for vertical compression. To find out how the pile will behave in the ground under the influence of vertical load, an experiment was conducted at the test site with a hollow fiberglass pile and a pile filled with cement-sand mortar.
The authors came to the conclusion that screw composite piles are technologically more efficient than metal piles currently used in terms of service life. Composite shells work well under the conditions of loads to which existing bridge structures are subjected, and the use of an external composite shell significantly increases the load-bearing capacity of the internal reinforced concrete strut. The hybrid rack thus obtained is well suited for increasing the strength, durability and reliability of bridge structures.
According to the results of experiments, it was found that a hybrid structure with a fiberglass shell is 1.6–2.2 times stronger than a reinforced concrete stand, massively used in bridge structures at present.
According to the results of the study, scientific articles were published in the domestic journal of the Higher Attestation Commission and in the journal of the foreign database Web of Science (Structural evaluation of a reinforced concrete column with a composite shell made of fiberglass - a structural element of the bridge support // Russian Journal of Construction and Architecture).
Piles from Composite material
A single-turn screw pile can be used for the construction of transmission lines, various pipelines, in the construction of bridges, any underpasses, garages, houses, to strengthen the coastal strip.
Service life of over 50 years, do not rust, do not oxidize, are not afraid of aggressive environments
